Dean Alfange Quote

I do not choose to be a common man. It is my right to be uncommon. I seek opportunity to develop whatever talents God gave me—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any earthly master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say—“This, with God’s help, I have done.” All this is what it means to be an American.

The Biggest Business of Them All: The Feds
Why do politicians seem to only want to support measures and legislation that supports small business? And what exactly is a small business? Because government wants to be the only big game in town. It wants to weaken any other power sufficient enough to muster enough resources on a level big enough to challenge the will of politicians, elites, and bureaucrats that control and fill government.

What makes a business a big business? The only way a business can become big is if it serves a large group of people. Think of the biggest businesses out there. Think of Microsoft. They provide the majority of software to the most people. Think Exxon. They provide tons of energy to lots of people. Think General Electric. They provide power generation, appliances, credit, and other important consumer and business items. Think Walmart. It is the biggest retailer in the world. Together, the top 20 businesses in the world are worth a market share of over 2 trillion dollars and sales that match or exceed that. The reason these companies become big is because they provide millions if not billions of people in the world with the products and services they need. That is the only way they can become big. They must serve the needs of billions of people on an individual level.

Now think about what makes government big. What makes government big is its ability to take money and/or print money. The more money it can take and print, the bigger it will become. It only becomes bigger if it can convince the majority of people that bigger government is better and that this same bigness is evil for businesses. So it works hard to support small businesses because the government can control many small entities much better than fewer bigger ones.

The Federal government spends more than that a year and has tens of millions of people dependent upon it. Now if you were the federal government, what would you try to do? You would work hard every day to eliminate your competition – big business or your competition or those who serve directly the needs of the people. Then you would go around demonizing these same big businesses until you had convinced the majority of people that it was good to have government make all the decisions for you. These types of people are the type of people that infest our government. They are the type of people that currently control the White House, our legislatures, and our judiciary. The only way to defeat these people is to learn two very important words. SHUT UP. We don’t believe anymore that big government is good. We believe that big business is good because this means that we are getting more of what we want, not what some bureaucrat, elite, or do-gooder thinks is good for us.
