General Douglas MacArthur Quote

In this day of gathering storm, as the moral deterioration of political power spreads its growing infection, it is essential that every spiritual force be mobilized to defend and preserve the religious base upon which this nation was founded. For it is that base which has been the motivating impulse to our moral and national growth. History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual reawakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.

From King George to President George
Why was the American Revolutionary War that began in 1776 fought? It was fought to oppose the economic tyranny that the King of England was imposing or trying to impose upon America. The King of England and Parliament attempted and at times did place taxes and tariffs upon the American people which they felt, justly so, were arbitrary and unfair. Their sole purpose was to enrich England at the expense of America. The revolutionaries of that day opposed this and this is why the Revolutionary War was fought. It was fought to achieve economic freedom from government control and planning. The founding fathers wanted to create a nation where economic freedom existed, where people could be free to choose their economic destinies as they saw fit without having to deal with economic tyranny created by too much concentration of power. The founding fathers understood that men cannot be free unless they have economic freedom and are protected from a government which will take that freedom away or try to control that freedom through government planning if given the opportunity to.

Fast forward to today. Does the government introduce arbitrary taxation and regulation without consulting with the American people or without honestly caring what the American people think? Of course they do. Just recently Congress passed a multi-billion dollar tax bill targeting the oil companies for excessive profits. Many of you probably do not know, but this has been done in the past. Congress has a way of targeting specific industries that they donít like. Since America is an oil-based economy, who do you think will ultimately bear the costs of this tax? The consumer. The oil company will just pass the costs onto the consumer. In essence, Congress has approved another tax on the American people. The federal government regularly deficit spends, printing money from nothing, creating inflation, which is nothing more than a hidden tax as your money loses value. The federal government, in essence, has become what the King of England was in 1776. It is a government that pays little attention to what the people need, which is economic freedom. It pays little attention to what is right. It serves the special interests and the political parties that run the federal government. It distributes and redistributes wealth based on party ties and favors. It imposes its will on the people, not for the benefit of the people, but for the benefit of the special interests whom they serve. America today does not sound much like the America that our founding fathers created, an America which had true economic freedom. It sounds much like the America that the King of England presided over. It sounds like an America who exists to serve the government and its wants and desires, not the other way around. Something is wrong here. The saddest part of this whole affair is that the American people are freely allowing this to happen. They believe the Democrats when they say the Republicans are the enemy. They believe the Republicans who say that the Democrats are the enemy. They fail to realize that the real enemy of the people is anyone who wishes to take away their economic freedom. Freedom means prosperity and growth. What the government offers is stagnation and a lower standard of living. Take a look around you. As the government has become more involved in planning and controlling the American peopleís lives, what has happened? Jobs have left America for the shores of Asia. People are growing more and more obese. The educational system is producing children that arenít equipped to handle a global economy. Wake up people. Itís time to face reality, the reality that our founding fathers faced over 200 years ago. They realized that the English government wasnít their friend. They wished and wanted it not to be so, but the reality dictated to them differently. They fought a war so that they and you and I could have economic freedom. Are you going to just sit idly by and believe the meaningless drivel that your politicians speak when they say that they will solve your problems or they will fix your live or even that they will save your soul? The government is the problem, just as it was in 1776. The only difference now is that the American people have been indoctrinated to believe that their government is their friend and that freedom is their enemy, that they cannot handle freedom. It is the greatest con job of all time, to convince a free nation that freedom is not for them. My only question is, ďWill America wake up before it is too late?Ē
